Riff is a sustainably-minded coffee company that is on a mission to explore and celebrate 100% of the coffee plant’s agricultural value. Properly named, they continue this exploration of their industry while inviting others to join them. 

I helped lead all creative and marketing efforts for Riff. Efforts that include managing design executions, event displays, sales support, social media, email marketing, paid digital and more. Here, I’ve also translated my 2D brand experience into 3D environmental branding with the development of a taproom space, through aesthetic, design and menu offerings. All revolving around Riff’s brand strategy of, “a playful invitation.”

Identity Design Packaging Design

Driven by innovation and the desire to bring quality beverages to the masses, I led the naming strategy, identity and packaging processes. These designs celebrate the unscripted spirit of “riffing” and approachability of the brand’s creative strategy of “a playful invitation.”

 
 
 
 

2021 Q1 Website Relaunch

As the e-commerce channel grew, I led the planning and design of a website relaunch. In less than two months, we launched a mobile-first, e-commerce-focused site that efficiently told the product and brand stories. 

 

Video Art Direction

I led the production of various videos focused on educating their consumers of coffee’s waste story. Riff wanted to educate, but not discourage people. A strategy that reinforced small actions can lead to large impacts.

Environmental Design

The taproom was seen as a primary marketing asset for Riff. Every detail was leveraged as an opportunity, including menu design, plate ware, merchandise, events, architecture and more. The space was designed to fully immerse customers into the brand and its spirit.
